In our travels through BC, the rest of Canada and North America, Europe and beyond, we always felt that the ideal lodgings would provide - apart from a bed and a bathroom - somewhere to prepare and eat food, rather than having to trek out again to spend big money on unreliable fare.
This is what we have built into our home in Clearwater, BC, on the road which heads into the middle of Wells Gray Provincial Park: we offer lodging in a well-equipped apartment, completely separate from the rest of the house, with its own entrance.

We encourage our visitors to make the most of the huge number of opportunities for activities in the area by offering discounts for multi-night stays. You'll find details on our Rates page.
We will give you as much help as you would like to make your stay memorable, such as suggesting and organising activities, and (when possible) providing outdoor equipment at special rates. Our small outdoor gear store, Bearfoot Outdoors, rents bikes and camping gear, and in 2006 we also plan to have some canoes / kayaks available.
The full kitchen allows you to prepare meals which you really want to eat, and also helps you to cut your costs. There is a large and well-stocked grocery store (supermarket) in the village, just 10 minutes' drive down the hill. However, there are also a number of good places to eat within a few minutes' drive, including the best bakery in BC, and maybe in the whole of Canada!
